The Public Presentation Act

The person chairing the selection board shall notify the EsDule administrative unit in writing of the date, place and time of the defence at least ten calendar days in advance.

If, prior to the act of constitution, any member leaves the examining board, the first or second substitute will join the board, at the request of the chairman of the examining board, who must notify the EsDule administrative unit of this circumstance beforehand.

The Act of Reading

The examining board will be constituted on the day of the defence of the doctoral thesis.

The length and structure of your oral presentation will be guided by your director and the academic committee of your programme.

The examining board will then evaluate your thesis and ask any questions it deems appropriate. The chairperson will invite the doctors attending the event to speak and ask any questions they feel appropriate.

At the end of the act, the examining board, behind closed doors, deliberates and issues the overall grade awarded, which will be: no pass, pass, pass, notable, outstanding.

If you have two consecutive positive follow-up reports and you consider that you have finished your thesis, all that remains is to present and defend it.

Authorisation of the defence and appointment of the court

The Doctoral Committee of the Faculty authorises the defence of the thesis and appoints the members of the examining board.
