ENROLMENT
FIRST YEAR ENROLMENT
What do you have to do once your admission has been confirmed?
You have already been admitted to a Doctoral Programme, so you must formalise your enrolment, within the period established in the deadline indicated in your notification of admission.
At ESDULE there are two registration periods: October and February. You have to enrol within the period in which you have been admitted.
As we have to check all the academic documentation provided in pre-enrolment against the originals, your first enrolment must be done in person at the ESDULE Administrative Unit Offices. In exceptional cases, if you are unable to attend, you should contact us and we will inform you of the steps to follow.
Remember that your registration will not be valid until you present all the necessary documentation within the established deadline and that the lack of documentation may lead to the cancellation of your registration.
ANNUAL RENEWAL OF REGISTRATION
Each academic year, doctoral students must renew their enrolment in their doctoral programme within the established period, including the year in which they plan to deposit their thesis. Failure to do so implies withdrawal from the programme, and therefore the loss of your place.
To do so, you must formalise your self-enrolment here, within the established deadline. Check the enrolment deadline in the Academic Calendar.
Requirement: In order to renew your enrolment, the Academic Committee of the Doctoral Programme must have made a POSITIVE evaluation of the PhD student’s activity in the previous academic year.
Deadlines: 2 October to 15 November 2023.
CAUSES FOR CANCELLATION OF REGISTRATION
Enrolment may be cancelled when:
- The registration documents have not been handed in.
- Payment of the fees has not been made within the established period.
- At the request of the doctoral student.
The doctoral student may apply for re-entry to the same programme by applying for pre-enrolment from the academic year after leaving the doctoral programme.
Re-entry will not imply an increase in the period of time after the first enrolment.
Students whose enrolment has been cancelled will lose the amounts paid, and any unpaid fees will remain pending for any of the items included in the enrolment, except for the exceptions provided for in the regulations.
CAUSES FOR DEFINITIVE WITHDRAWAL FROM THE PROGRAMME
The doctoral student will be definitively withdrawn from the programme and his/her file will be closed and archived when:
- Two consecutive negative evaluations have been obtained.
- The student has exceeded the period of stay without having registered the application for the deposit and defence of the doctoral thesis.
Once the file has been closed for these reasons, the doctoral student may apply for admission to another doctoral programme other than the programme on which he/she has left.
